The University of Kansas Health System Joins AVIA

The University of Kansas Health System is already collaborating with AVIA Innovator Network members to enhance its ability to deliver clinical excellence to patients

CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The University of Kansas Health System is the newest member of AVIA, the nation’s leading network for health systems seeking to innovate and transform by unlocking the power of digital.

In announcing the new collaboration, Bob Page, the University of Kansas Health System President and CEO, said the decision to join the AVIA Innovator Network reflects the health system’s commitment to improving patient care through innovation.

“We are honored to join this group of industry leaders focused on innovation,” he said. “Our goal in working with the AVIA team and its members is to make smart technology decisions and identify and integrate new digital tools to improve the patient’s healthcare experience.”

Eric Langshur, the CEO and co-founder of AVIA, said that the University of Kansas Health System will bring a valuable perspective to the AVIA Innovator Network.

“The University Kansas Health System is an exciting addition to the growing AVIA Innovator Network,” he said. “While health systems nationwide are facing a growing list of digital challenges without a playbook, AVIA members are able to adapt to these changes and move faster together to transform care.”

Early focus on clinician excellence

The University of Kansas Health System’s initial priorities with AVIA focus on digital strategies to enhance clinician and patient interactions, and to support the patient experience by improving information access and wayfinding. The University of Kansas Health System has joined several ongoing initiatives, collaborating with AVIA Innovator Network members with similar challenges to identify and develop digital solutions.

“We now have the opportunity for our health system to collaborate with AVIA members. We are supported by AVIA subject matter experts who provide outstanding guidance to the participants. The work helps inform digital strategies already in progress at our health system and will help us frame priorities for future work. The collaborative approach helps speed our adoption of emerging technologies, while also reducing risk and costs,” said John Rochelle, the University of Kansas Health System Program Manager for Innovation.

“By joining the AVIA network, and working with cohorts of members who share similar challenges, the University of Kansas Health System shares and learns from other health systems about how they are leveraging digital solutions, plus people and process improvements, at both the organizational and individual level,” said Nelson Le, MD, AVIA’s medical director.
