ARLINGTON, Va., March 26, 2015 — The inaugural HX360 event will focus on advancing the use of health technology innovations that improve clinical workflow, care coordination and patient experience, and foster collaborations to improve development and adoption of novel health technologies, as well as work on the structures and processes within delivery systems that will make their use successful. HX360, convening healthcare providers, investors, entrepreneurs, developers and other stakeholders, takes place April 13-15, at the 2015 HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition, McCormick Place in Chicago.
HX360 is looking beyond electronic health records, to next-generation technologies, such as mobile health, wearables, sensors and remote monitoring devices and other digital tools that are changing care delivery for both patients and providers. HX360’s interactive sessions, networking events and vibrant Innovation Pavilion will set the stage for collaboration between investors, healthcare providers and entrepreneurs.
The HX360 conference General Program takes a comprehensive look at how post-EHR technologies are improving care delivery, and how patients and consumers are managing their own health and wellness. Sessions will cover how health systems are leveraging resources inside and out of the hospital, innovative approaches to patient engagement and the Patient-Centered Care Plan. Presentations will also explore future applications of data analytics, continuity of care and next generation health gaming opportunities.
“HX360 was designed to bring entrepreneurs, investors and providers together in close, concentrated discussion around the topics of health technology development and contemporary provider challenges,” said Roy Smythe, MD, CEO of HX360. “HX360 will provide the most inclusive look at both innovative, new solutions and vetted startups solving today’s pressing challenges for providers.”
The HX360 Innovation Pavilion on the HIMSS15 show floor (North Building, Booth 8191) will feature more than 250 companies in 40,000 square feet of space showcasing cutting-edge health technology solutions. Exhibits, demos and special events will address Contemporary Provider Challenges identified by major health systems: patient retention and acquisition, provider efficiency and workflows, post-acute care management, patient experience, care coordination, supply chain optimization and quality metrics improvement.
Dedicated exhibit areas in the Pavilion, highlighting companies, products and innovations include:
Startup Showcase – offering innovators and entrepreneurs a platform for interacting with the HX360 and HIMSS15 audiences.
Accelerator Hubs – showcasing corporate venture investment, strategic partnerships/pilots as well as programs aimed at accelerating commercialization of technology solutions in healthcare.
Marketplace – highlighting mature and later stage companies with new innovations.
Games for Health – created in partnership with the Games for Health Project, this interactive, hands-on area represents the increasing role videogames and gamification are having in healthcare today.
HX360 Innovation Challenge – play-off style competition and live showdown between four finalist companies with innovative products and solutions designed to improve patient experience in healthcare, care coordination or primary care management. The two top companies will receive funding to run pilot programs with major health systems following the event. Judges will be expert health system and VC executives.
HX360 will include Deloitte as a platinum sponsor, McKesson and Philips as founding partners, and Ayasdi, HGST, higi and Verizon as the innovation sponsors.
The inaugural HX360 event, a new initiative co-developed by HIMSS and AVIA, puts a spotlight on the adoption and implementation of next generation (non-EHR) technologies to improve care delivery, collaborations that optimize the innovation cycle in healthcare technology, and the processes and structures health systems will require to leverage these technologies. This year’s HX360 exhibit floor will highlight health technologies that aim to improve provider efficiencies and clinical workflow, patient experience, care coordination for disease and patient retention and acquisition. Speakers, interactive exhibits and special events will also address Contemporary Provider Challenges identified by health systems, including leading in a tech-enabled environment, nurturing health-technology entrepreneurship, and creating value in healthcare delivery.
